I Love Autumn!

Autumn is my favorite season. When September comes, I champ at the bit, because I admire the change of nature. The colorful trees, drinking a cup of warm tea at the window when it’s raining outside, the smell of the soil after the rain, or the sun unexpectedly getting out of the clouds and make me want to run directly to the nearest park to enjoy its warmth… I’ve been looking forward to this all year.

Best Season For Hiking

Listening to the sound of the rain tapping on my window, smelling the soil, watching admiringly the trees changing color from the green to red, feeling the warmth of the sun, picking juicy apples from the trees… It’s a season that appeals to all five senses. But for all this, first you have to go into the nature. I think this is the best season for nature trips, especially in September and October…

Autumn view from the Alps

My Favourite Destination

My favorite route is absolutely the point where the mountains meet lakes. Especially the Alps, where the nature offers all its colors generously, are definitely the right choice for this season.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of these points. Located in the south of Germany, on the Austrian border, this region has many natural beauties. Germany’s highest peak, Zugspitze; Partnachklamm, a canyon of natural wonder; and a lake at the foot of Zugspitze, Eibsee, are just a few of these.

Partnachklamm

Partnachklamm

From the center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen you can reach Partnachklamm on foot, take a walk along the burbling river through the path dating from 1912, and when you exit the canyon, you can take a little break against the mountains that greet you and relax with the warm tea you brought. After the canyon, there are many walking routes, you can choose any one and continue to enjoy the nature for the rest of the day. I’m sure you won’t regret any of the choices.

Eibsee

A short bus ride from Garmisch takes you to Eibsee, which is a completely different experience. I took my breakfast and set off early in the morning. When I started walking around the lake, the sun began to rise behind the mountains and I sat down at the shore to have breakfast. The smell of the soil moistened with dew in the early morning hours, a warm cup of tea in the chilling morning weather, the ducks revolving around to share your breakfast, the warmth of the sun rising from the back of the Zugspitze and the trees surrounding the lake with their magnificent colors is definitely a must-have experience.

Eibsee

A Short Walk Around The Lake

Eibsee is a small lake, 2 hours is enough to walk around, but I think you should also plan the time for enjoying the nature and taking great photos. Following the marked routes you can walk to the top of Germany, Zugspitze. And even if you don’t go that far, you can stop at the chalets on the route and enjoy the Bavarian beer, which is a must when hiking in Germany.

Ideal For A Weekend

A 2-day trip will be enough to see the highlights in this region but the beauties of nature are endless. If you have more time, there is definitely always more to enjoy here. You can expand your trip to other regions that are easily accessible by bus, but this will be another article’s subject.
